Monica Cornell-Benoit

Certified Cosmetic Tattoo Artist, Electrologist, Aesthetician & Instructor

Hi, I’m Monica—also known as Mona! I’m a certified Cosmetic Tattoo Artist and Aesthetician, proudly holding multiple certifications from top institutions across British Columbia. I work from a cozy boutique salon nestled in beautiful West Vancouver, BC, where I’ve been perfecting my craft for nearly six years. Recently, I expanded my expertise to include electrolysis for permanent hair removal, a service I’m deeply passionate about.

My journey into electrolysis is very personal. After undergoing laser hair removal treatments years ago, I experienced paradoxical hypertrichosis—an unexpected side effect where unwanted hair growth worsens instead of improving. Along with stubborn hair, I struggled with painful ingrown hairs. Finding electrolysis was truly life-changing for me, and the results inspired me to become certified so I could help others facing the same challenges. Because of my personal experience, I approach electrolysis with extra care, compassion, and understanding.

I’m also incredibly passionate about cosmetic tattooing, especially achieving natural, beautiful results for brows, lips, and eyeliner. My approach focuses on enhancing each client’s unique features while causing minimal trauma to the skin. It’s a delicate blend of precision and artistry that I take great pride in.

My love for skincare runs deep—there’s something so satisfying about helping clients achieve clean, glowing, healthy skin. I tailor every treatment to each person’s needs, combining technique, experience, and high-quality products to reveal real results.

When it comes to brow shaping, lash lifts, and brow lamination, I get to tap into my creative side. These treatments are not only fun and transformative but also allow me to frame each face in a way that brings out its natural beauty.

Helping people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin is the most rewarding part of what I do. To stay current with industry trends and techniques, I regularly attend professional beauty shows around the world—including in Las Vegas, New York City, Vancouver, and coming up in 2025: Paris, France! These experiences keep me inspired, educated, and connected with the global beauty community, allowing me to bring the best techniques and innovations back to my clients.
